I recently popped into Morrisons and found a pile of their own brand part baked baguettes at the end of an aisle. I hadn’t decided on lunch so I thought it would make a nice treat. As other value baguettes I have tried have been dairy free I checked the ingredients list being optimistic. I was in luck it was indeed dairy free. The only allergen listed was wheat with a warning about containing gluten. So that was my lunch sorted.

I popped them into the oven and cooked them as instructed. They produced a lovely aroma in the kitchen which is always a bonus. When the baguettes came out of the oven they had a fairly crusty texture on top and were a light to medium cream / brown colour. I decided to have them straight out of the oven with just a dairy free spread so that this could slightly melt.

The baguettes were easy to cut into they had a nice crunchy texture which became light and fluffy inside. On biting into the baguettes the same textures were apparent. The flavour of these baguettes were also spot on. Just as I think part a baked baguette should be. In fact I would have to say these baguettes were on par with the Tesco’s value baguettes, which I really enjoyed. Again it just proves that you don’t have to pay a lot of money to enjoy a nice baguette. So if you follow a dairy and or lactose free diet like me why not give these baguettes a try. So thank you Morrisons for producing a nice good value for money baguette that I will definitely be buying these again.
