Whilst at a recent work conference I was one happy girl. Not only did I have a good choice of food for lunch and nibbles to enjoy but there was also a good selection of tea. So I thought I would try and work my way through the choices during the day. I have been trying to reduce my caffeine intake so opted for mint tea. The brand available was Tetley, to be fair I can’t remember the last time I had a cup of Tetley tea. The teabags were individually packed and you helped yourself to the hot water. What I first noticed was the feint aroma of mint. I had to subtly sniff the tea to notice this. I was a little disappointed by this. I like my mint tea fairly strong and it’s not uncommon for me to leave the teabag in the cup so it continues to infuse with the hot water. I left the teabag in the cup as it seemed to take a long time for the water to change colour. On sipping the tea a minimal mint flavour was noted in fact it was pretty bland, week and non descript. It reminded me of the peppermint teabags from Lidl. So like those if I had another Tetley teabag in the future I would have 2 in one cup to try and get some flavour and aroma.
I’m sorry Tetley but these teabags just weren’t for me. I was disappointed by both the flavour and aroma. I’m afraid that I won’t be recommending these teabags.
