On a shopping trip to Tunbridge Wells a tea shop caught my eye in the main shopping mall. Being a girl who loves her cup of tea I just had to pop inside. The Bluebird Tea Co is a fairly new company with two branches the first being in Brighton. On entering the shop you are greeted by a variety of teas and gadgets to help you enjoy your cuppa. I particularly liked the tea tins in which you could open and smell the tea before you buy.

Well on to the tea itself as Christmas was around he corner I decided to buy their Christmas tea. It comes in a nice simple packet allowing you to see the biodegradable tea parcels inside. I was drawn to the candy snowflake inside the tea parcels. The other ingredients in the teabags included Ceylon black tea, vanilla, almond, cinnamon, cloves, orange peel and spruce needles.

On opening the tea packet a slight aroma of what I would describe as chai tea was noted. I placed the teabag in a medium sized mug and added freshly boiled water. I left it to infuse with the hot water as instructed for 4 minutes. Being dairy free I had the tea milk free.

There was a subtle aroma similar to that of chai tea. On sipping the tea I noted the chai tea flavour. The snowflake added a little subtle sweetness without overpowering the tea. This was different to the normal tea I drink but nice as an occasional treat. Overall, I found the tea to have a nice medium strength. The different flavours being clearly distinguishable with the nice additional slight sweetness coming from the snow flake. This tea definitely reminded me of Christmas.

These teabags make a nice seasonal treat and would make a lovely gift for any tea lover. So if you’re in Brighton or Tunbrige Wells why not pop in store if you’re a tea lover like me you won’t regret it.
