I love the smell of freshly baked bread, but I have to confess I never bake my own. As an occasional treat I buy part baked bread to enjoy. Sadly, being dairy free it is becoming increasingly difficult to find suitable part baked breads that are safe to eat. When I stumbled across Paul Hollywood ready to bake rolls I thought I would have an optimistic look at the ingredients. Bingo, no dairy listed so I just had to give them a try.

I liked the packaging with pictures of the delicious rolls and a small picture of Paul sprinkling flour on a roll. The back of the packaging is clear allowing you to see the rolls inside. The allergens highlighted on the ingredients list are wheat, sesame, soya, oat, and barley. They have a may contain nuts warning and are suitable for vegetarians.

On opening the packet there are 6 rolls to be found that are all joined together. You can separate the rolls and bake as many or as little as you wish. I was a little greedy and cooked two to eat in one sitting.

I cooked the rolls for the 10 minutes as instructed. The rolls came out of the oven nice and crusty on the outside. On cutting the rolls there was a soft centre noted with a slightly springy texture noted to touch. On biting into the rolls I experienced a nice thresh crunch from the outside of the roll followed by a light fluffy texture. I had the rolls plain with a little Pure dairy sunflower free spread and with a filling. They are definitely best straight from the oven and make a great accomplice to a nice winters soup.

So would I recommend these to anyone who has no dietary restrictions or is dairy free like me, yes definitely. These have to be the nicest part baked rolls I have tried. So a big thank you to Paul Hollywood for producing these. I shall be purchasing these rolls again.
