Review of Joe Wicks Kitchenware

Review of Joe Wicks Kitchenware

Hi, I am back for my first Foodie Thursday Review after a wonderful summer break. I like many no doubt enjoyed the delightful weather and spent most of my time outside. When we had a blip and the heavy rain arrived I finally decided to have a good old fashioned kitchen clear out. I was sad to say goodbye to my old kitchenware but felt self righteous. I then started laughing looking for new kitchenware. The new Joe Wicks collection caught my attention and I decided to think about it over the weekend. Silly as it sounds I found it hard to replace my old faithful pots and pans. As if by coincidence I was then contacted by Debenhams and asked if I wanted to review the new Joe Wicks collection. So of course I said yes. I waited with anticipation for the products to arrive in what can only be described as a massive box. Inside I was greeted by a frying pan, saucepan, chopping board, kitchen accessories and Joe Wicks latest cook book.

The small non-stick stainless steal frying pan was the perfect size for me. I often enjoy an omelette as it is a quick and healthy option when I get home late in the evening. I have been looking for a new omelette pan and this is just the perfect size. I have to confess the first thing I tried in this pan was bacon. I try add as little or no oil if possible. The bacon cooked perfectly and didn’t stick or require any extra oil when cooking. The pan cleaned easily and left a few dark marks which were hard to remove which was a little disappointing. My omelette cooked perfectly with this pan. The even heat distribution meant that the omelette cooked quickly and you didn’t need to finish it of under the grill. This time I cleaned the pan in the dishwasher at it cleaned well.

I received the medium size non-stick saucepan. It is a great size as you can cook most dishes in it. So far I have mainly used it for cooking pasta, potatoes, and sauces. I found that that and foods liquids heated up pretty quickly and evenly. I only needed to use a tiny amount oil to the pan when cooking compared to my old faithful pans. As for the non-stick element nothing stuck to the bottom even on a hot heat. Whilst in use the silicone handle remained cool. It cleaned easily both by had and in the dishwasher.

Kitchen accessories

My chopping boards are getting a little dated. I like a nice wooden chopping board especially for when cutting fresh bread. I found the addition of the side attachment a little bit gimmicky. Our chopped veg go straight onto a plate or bowl. That said this chopping board was of a good quality, cleaned easily and has now become our new dedicated bread board.

I really liked the concept and design of the easy grip solid spoon and slotted turner and the elevated tongs. I can get a bit clumsy in the kitchen and have been known to melt a few kitchen spoon and tongs when I have got distracted and left balancing on the side of a pot or pan on the hob. so have to confess to getting a little excited about testing these out. They did balance well on the pots and pans and did not melt when left in the resting position of the pan. The handles were smooth and easy to hold were just the right size for my small hands. The neutral grey colour and hint of orange should mean that would fit in nicely most kitchen designs.

Finally the 3 in 1 peeler. I have to confess by not being sure about this as I have finally found a peeler that I love. The first thing that I wanted to try was carrot ribbons to have with my salad as alternative to my regular grated version. I was impressed with the grip it was easy to hold with my small hands and had a comfortable grip. I did indeed peel fruit and vegetables with ease and as for those carrot ribbons spot on. Oh and it washed well in the dishwasher. I was suitably impressed with everything about this peeler and will no doubt be using most days of the week.

Cookbook

I liked the layout of the cookbook. It had a simple logical and easy to follow format. The recipes are easy so that most cooks can follow them. The recipe instructions are clear concise and easy to follow. The photos are large and bold and help you to visualise what you should expect. This is a nice addition to have in any kitchen and perfect for family recipes. As someone who is often on the go with limited time I am certainly looking forward to trying Joe’s recipes.

So would I recommend the Joe Wicks kitchenware range? Yes I would. The pots and pans resulted in evenly cooked dishes. My favourite part has to be their silicone handles which are easy to grip and don’t get hot whilst adding a subtle design twist to everyday pots and pans. All of the pieces that I received were easy to clean more importantly all except for the chopping board were dishwasher safe. As for the accessories my favourite has to be the peeler again it was easy to grip and hold and the addition of having different peeling options has resulted in some new tweaks to my salads. I will no doubt purchase some new additions to this range soon. So thank you Debenhams for giving me the opportunity to review this kitchenware.

Disclaimer: I received the Joe Wicks kitchenware from Debenhams in exchange for an honest review. All of the opinions are honest and my own.

Proudly linking up to some of these brilliant linkies

I like the look of the chopping board. And, I’m one for burning wooden spoons, too, so the holder on the side of the pan looks very handy #triumphanttales

I’ve met Joe Wicks! (had to get that in first.) I love the look of these, the peeler in particular, my hands hurt when peeling but I like the big silicone handle on this. The chopping board looks great too. Really good if you are chopping a few things and want one out of the way before chopping the next, my board gets full really quickly and there is no chopping space. Or, I suppose for putting your waste bits so they can go in the bin. I’m forever getting the ends of carrots in my pan.
Great review, enjoy your new gadgets and pans.

They’re so pretty! My own pots and pans reveal my mid-life status, I suspect. A bit battered and not particularly shiny, but still cooking. 🙂

Did not know Joe Wicks did these sort of products but they look good and you can never have enough kitchenalia for me. I like the sound of his new book too as more appropriate for families #MMBC
