Review of co-op Irresistible Aberdeen Angus & Bourbon Mustard Crinkle Cut Crisps

I quickly popped into the co-op to grab a few essentials and somehow found myself drawn to their crisps aisle. A packet of irresistible Aberdeen angus & bourbon mustard crinkle cut crisps grabbed my attention. Most flavoured crisps are not an option when following a dairy free diet. I noticed that these were clearly labelled as being gluten free and I couldn’t see any milk listed in the ingredients listed so decided to give them a try.

I liked the dark purple/brown colour to the packaging with a picture of the crisps cascading down one side and a picture of the beef to the other. Onto the ingredients list they are clearly labelled as being suitable for a gluten free diet. Mustard seeds are highlighted as an allergen on the ingredients list and there is no may contain warning.

On opening the packet I was greeted by a fairly strong aroma of what I would describe as American salted beef. This strengthened on my famous close up sniff test. The crisps were of a good size and had a good even scattering of flavouring and looked very inviting. On biting into the crisps a nice crisp crunch was noted. As for the flavour they tasted strangely delicious and reminded me of salted beef that I have eaten a few times in a sandwich on my holidays in America. Yes they tasted a little artificial in flavouring if I am honest but I really didn’t mind in this instance. They didn’t leave any greasy or powdery residual on my fingers. This is always a big positive for me. I personally dislike greasy crisps and find it a little annoying when half the flavouring from the crisp is left behind on my fingers.

So would I recommend these crisps? I Certainly would. I liked everything about these crisps from their inviting aroma though to their crunchy crisp texture and flavour. So thank you co-op for producing a delicious packet of crisps that I can enjoy.

Proudly linking up to some of these brilliant linkies
