Review of Marks & Spencer Celebration Earl Grey Tea

I am a girl who loves my cups of earl grey tea. It is my tea of choice and I am always on the lookout for new teas to try. On a recent trip to Marks & Spencer I yet again found myself in their tea section. I was running low on earl grey tea so I decided to treat myself and get one of their celebration earl grey tea to try.
Review of Marks & Spencer Celebration Earl Grey Tea
I liked the colour of the deep blue and gold splatter design of the tea caddy with its gold lid. Onto the ingredients list tea (94%), bergamot peel, blue cornflowers, flavouring are listed. No allergens are highlighted and there is no may contain warning. On a personal note I wish the natural flavouring was in more detail.

On opening the tin there was a delightful bergamot intermingled with a hint of cornflower. This intensified slightly on my close up sniff test even when smelling an individual tea pyramid. I placed the tea pyramid in my teacup and added the freshly boiled hot water to let the tea infuse with the hot water for the recommended brewing time. The tea infused with the hot water and turned to a medium/dark brown colour. But what about the aroma? I initially smelt the black tea but this soon got replaced by a fairly strong bergamot aroma with a hint of cornflower noted. On my close up sniff test the bergamot intensified a little. I couldn’t wait to try this tea. On sipping the tea it tasted like a good strong quality earl grey tea. The bergamot was strong yet not too overpowering or artificial tasting. This intermingled with a subtle hint of cornflower resulted in a very enjoyable cup of tea.

So would I recommend this earl grey tea? Yes I would. I think that it might also be suited to those who stronger strength of earl grey tea. I liked everything about this tea from its packaging through to its aroma and flavour. In fact it was one of the nicest earl grey teas that I have tried. So thank you Marks & Spencer for producing a nice earl grey tea.

Proudly linking up to some of these brilliant linkies

Great review as always! I’ve actually recently started drinking tea, it’s only Yorkshire tea or something but it’s something! Haha. Will definitely have to keep an eye for this one or some of the ones that you’ve mentioned before that you recommend and try them out!
