Review of Morrisons Pure Camomile Tea

As a lady who enjoys her cups of tea on a daily basis I am always on the lookout for new teas to try. I am really enjoying my renewed quest to find new caffeine free teas to try. One of my favourite teas at the moment is camomile. So when someone at work bought some Morrisons camomile tea to share I just had to give it a try.
I liked the design of the packaging with this tea. I personally found the yellow colour theme with a variety of yellow and white swirls to be calming. The tea is described as being a golden infusion with fragrant camomile flowers.
Onto the ingredients 100% camomile is listed. There are no allergens highlighted or any may contain warnings listed. On opening the box the teabags were in a sealed foil packaging. This is always a positive trying to keep the tea fresh and seal the both flavour and aroma in. On opening the foil packaging I was immediately hit with a stronger than expected grassy aroma that I associate with camomile tea. On my close up sniff test this aroma intensified. This was significantly weaker on sniffing an individual teabag, but was still present.
I placed the teabag in my cup and added my freshly boiled hot water. The hot water soon changed to a golden yellow colour. On infusing the tea it immediately produced a faint subtle grassy aroma that I associate with camomile tea. I have to admit this took me by surprise as this has not been the case with other everyday camomile teas that I have tried. On sipping the tea it had a light mellow taste subtle grassy undertones noted. The flavour was stronger than I had experienced with other everyday camomile teas and made for a very pleasant change. I also found it to be slightly soothing on the stomach which is always a bonus for me. Overall it was a light and refreshing tea.
So would I recommend this tea? Definitely I enjoyed everything about this tea from its aroma through to its flavour. It is one of the nicest everyday camomile teas that I have tried. I shall be buying this tea when I next visit Morrisons. So thank you Morrisons for producing an enjoyable an everyday camomile tea that I can enjoy.

I’m not a Camomile fan but I do like a good tea, Earl Grey or Peppermint are my tipple. #Best&Worst

Yes camomile can be an acquired taste. You can’t beat a nice earl grey or peppermint tea.

It sounds so good for you though, perhaps I should work at acquiring the taste!

Can’t drink chammomile because of IBS but I do love a good cup of Chai!

    • March 16, 2017 / 7:52 pm

Yes I didn’t realise until recently that IBS and camomile don’t go together. At least you can enjoy a nice cup of chai.

I love chamomile tea! I current drink the twinnings one which is so tasty. I’ve never tried any of the Morrisons tea but they sounds pretty good ?

    • March 16, 2017 / 7:53 pm

Hi, you should give it a try it’s a good price. I think I may prefer it to Twinings.

I used to drink chamomile tea quite a lot as it helped me focus, but that was a long time ago although this review makes me want to try it out again! It’s amazing how good the quality is too, especially as it’s not one of those fancy tea brands.

I hope that you like this one it’s worth giving it a try.
