Review of Tesco Free From Choc Sticks

I am lucky enough to be on my holidays at the moment. This often means one thing for my family frequent visits to the ice cream parlour to work their way through the variety of flavours. There is never any options for dairy free me to try. However, I often have a cup of tea to take to the beach instead. Things this year however have changed. We had our shopping delivered via Tesco’s. This meant that it was a great opportunity for me to try their new free from choc sticks.
I liked the simple design of the packaging which is in the same new style of Tesco’s free from products. They are labelled as being gluten, milk and wheat free. Whilst also being suitable for a vegan diet. The picture on front just made me want to dive into the box and give these lollies a try. To me they look Magnum ice cream lollies.
On opening the packaging the lollies come in clear packaging allowing you to see the lolly inside. All I could focus on was the chocolate layer on the outside. On opening the packaging I was greeted by the aroma of dark chocolate. This was very promising. I took a bite into the lolly it was much better than I anticipated. I got a thick layer of crunchy dark chocolate that wasn’t to rich but spot on with the flavour. Particularly when bearing in mind that a lot of children with food allergies or intolerances will be eating these. Underneath there was a vanilla ice cream, this was slightly creamy in both texture and flavour. The vanilla was subtle but I could taste it. Let me tell you this ice cream lolly didn’t last me long.
So would I recommend this chocolate ice cream lolly to anyone who follows a dairy free, gluten free or a vegan diet definitely. I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity of the chocolate coating. It was much thicker than I expected. It had a nice crunch which revealed a lovely vanilla ice cream underneath. The combination of both flavours and textures worked perfectly together. I will shop in Tesco’s just to get these. I would go as far to say that these are one of the nicest sweet treats I have had in a long time. So a big thank you Tesco’s for making a wonderful free from chocolate coated ice cream lolly that I and many others can enjoy.

Not sure where you are located but Coconut bliss has a very good line of ice cream! They are my favourite! Their salted caramel and chocolate ice cream is to die for!!

Sorry to hear! Soy delicious is also pretty good! I’m in Canada and those are pretty much our only two options!
