Review of Tesco’s Everyday Value 2 Pack Part Baked Baguette

I recently popped in to the Marks & Spencer’s To Go and needed a loaf of bread. After lots of rummaging in the relevant section I could only find one that was suitable for my dietary needs. The ingredients list either had milk highlighted or had a comment not suitable for milk allergy sufferers due to the manufacturing process. I was only able to find one loaf of bread which was a white thick sliced loaf. This inspired me to post some reviews about the bread I am discovering to share with others. I recently popped into a Tesco’s Extra and found myself yet again in the bread aisle. I Fancied a part baked baguette as I love the smell of freshly cooked bread. I was personally surprised to discover that their own branded everyday value part baked baguettes were dairy free. So that was it I had give them a try.
I popped them into the oven and cooked them as instructed. They produced a nice aroma in the kitchen which is always a bonus. They came out of the oven with a medium brown colour and looked fairly crusty texture on the top with the underneath being light and bouncy. I left them to cool as I fancied a nice ham baguette. Once they were only slightly warm I made my ham sandwich.
The baguette was easy to cut into it had a nice crunchy texture which became light and fluffy inside was slightly bouncy to the bottom. I was suitably impressed. On biting into the baguette the same textures were apparent. The flavour was also spot on. This is a little hard to describe but it had the same flavour as other part baked baguettes that I have previously eaten. In fact I would have to say this is one of the nicest part baked baguettes I have tried. If I’m honest I was a little surprised by this. It just proves that you don’t have to pay a lot of money to enjoy a nice bread. So if you follow a dairy and or lactose free diet like me why not give these baguettes a try. So thank you Tesco’s for producing a nice good value for money baguette that I will definitely be buying again.

Hi, I miss bread, I have tried not to eat it since I have been following Weight Watchers, it is helping though. I have really cut down on dairy too and its surprising how different it makes you feel.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. It’s interesting to read that you reduced your bread and dairy since being on your diet and how different it has made you feel. Good luck with the diet.

I have just bought a pack of these and before baking in the oven I thought I’d check reviews. I didn’t know this was dairy free. Even better. I’m not very tolerant of anything dairy. Just putting them in the oven now. I’m eating mine with some salad and lovely vi e ripened tomatoes. Thanks for a great review.
