Review of the co-operative sweet chilli crisps

I am always on the lookout for new crisps to try. I tend to go for the plain variety as more often than not they are safe for me to eat. Now, I have previously reviewed a couple of the co-op’s crisps and have really enjoyed them. On a recent visit to the a local co-op this packet of crisps grabbed my attention. I was drawn to the colour and design of the packaging. I picked it up in the hope that maybe, just maybe I could have them. They were labelled as being suitable for both vegetarians and vegans. I checked the ingredients list and no allergens were listed or highlighted. They were dairy and lactose free. So of course I added them to my shopping basket to give them a try.
On opening the packet a faint hint of chilli was noted although if I am honest smelt a tad artificial. I didn’t let this put me of and dived in. The crisps were of a good size and had an even coating of flavouring. They were not greasy to touch and did not leave a residual on my fingers. On biting into the crisps a nice clean crunch was noted. The flavour although slightly artificial was prefect for my personal palate. There was a subtle hint of chilli, without it being to strong or overpowering.
The crisps didn’t last long, I enjoyed the as part of a lunch and had the rest as a craft savoury snack. I thought the quality of these crisps was spot on, from the size, through to the texture and flavouring. I can not fault them. So will I buy these again, oh yes. So if you fancy a packet of crisps with a subtle kick why not give these a try. So thank you co-op for producing yet another good quality crisps that I can enjoy.

Thanks for reviewing these, I shall definitely give them a try. Flavoured crisps were a food that I had given up on because they all seem to have lactose.

I never used to look at flavoured crisps but Twitter and Facebook posts proved it is possible. I always check now, because you never know you may be lucky and find something new. I hope you find these crisps. I love their plain version as well.
