Review of Nakd Strawberries & Cream Fruit and Nut Nibbles

I have just recently discovered the Nakd brand. They are basically a healthy alternative sweet snack to enjoy that come in bars or a little packet of nibbles. They are marketed as being wheat, dairy and gluten free as well as being suitable for vegans. There is a variety of flavours to choose from. I decided to take advantage of their offer at the recent allergy show in London and get a range of their packets. As Wimbledon is well and truly upon us I decided to try their strawberries and & cream nibbles first. I personally love this packaging as it’s a pretty pink colour with pictures of the brown treats cascading down the side of the packet. The packet weighs 40g and this serving contains 137 calories, 4.7g of fat, 21.1g of sugar and 0.0g of salt.

On opening the back I noted a nice subtle aroma of strawberries and cream, which to be honest I didn’t expect. This was a pleasant surprise and made me want to dive straight into the bag. Inside I could see what I would describe as little balls of what looked like squeedie balls of chocolate. On closer inspection you could just see the mixture of the three ingredients. These being dates, cashews, and raisins with a little rice flour and natural flavours thrown in for luck.
On touching a ball they were soft and bouncy. On bitting into the ball I got a nice combination of textures. The outside was slightly dry with the inside being moist and slightly sticky. I could defintley taste the strawberries and cream element to this snack. Again like its aroma it was subtle and not to artificial or strong in taste. I have to confess the packet didn’t last long. I ate the packet in 2 sessions during the day as I personally them a little sickly , but I think that’s because I don’t have a sweet tooth. So if you follow a dairy, lactose, gluten, or wheat free diet are vegan and fancy an alternative sweet treat why not give these a go. So thanks Nakd for producing a nice sweet treat that I can enjoy. I am looking forward to trying these next.

They are a fab idea, and a great alternative to their bars.
