Well now that the summer has finally decided to arrive it can only mean one thing, ice cream. Following a dairy and lactose free diet can restrict this somewhat. As a child I used to have sorbet as safe ice cream wasn’t really an option. The fast development of the free from market has changed this in a positive way. With a variety of new ice creams to try. So I thought I would start by reviewing Booja Booja ice cream. It comes in several flavours but I choose their chocolate flavour in their small size. The tub weighs 110g and comes in a simplistic brown tub, just like the portions you can get at the theatre. A 100g contains 137 calories, 12.5gg of sugar and 0.010g of salt.
The good news is that not only is it suitable for my diet but it is also gluten and soya free and suitable for vegans. The tub is easy to open and comes with a little ice cream spoon making it easy to eat on the go. The ice cream didn’t have any real aroma noted and was a nice rich brown colour. It takes s few minutes for the ice cream to soften once it does it’s easy to fit on their little spoon.
On tasting the ice cream it had a nice deep rich chocolate flavour which I personally thought was spot on. It’s consistency was smooth and yet slightly thick at the same time. I really enjoyed the combination of the flavour and texture of this ice cream. It is a real grown up treat and you will probably find the small tub will be finished quickly in one sitting. So if you are dairy, lactose, gluten, soya free or follow a vegan diet why not give this a try. I think you will enjoy it. So thank you Booja Booja for a truly enjoyable ice cream.
