Review of Tesco’s Redbush Tea

Well whilst we we’re away on our family holiday at Easter I took the opportunity to try everyone’s teas. Now I was the only person that always has their tea milk free due to my dairy and lactose free diet. That said it is not uncommon for my mum to drink her teas without milk. Like me my mum likes to try decaffeinated teas, including the fruit and herbal varities. One of my mums favourite teas is rooibos tea. In fact she has it most days, especially when at work. Whilst away in our hols mum’s tea came courtesy of Tesco’s. I loved the packaging a terracotta coloured box with simple tribal style designs on it.
So I boiled the keetle put the teabag in the mug and awaited for it to infuse with the hot water. I did the same as my mum which is to leave it a few minutes to brew, but then removed the teabag. I got a feint aroma of a typical rooibos tea, which I find hard to personally describe. Maybe of a slightly malty quality. I have looked at other reviews and they suggest the same. The tea itself made the water go a medium brown / orange colour. On sipping the tea, I could clearly taste the rooibos’s flavour. To me this is an acquired taste which develops over time. I now enjoy this flavour. If I am honest the tea tasted just like other brand of rooibos tea I have tried. I look at this as a good thing, because it means it’s easily available. So thank you Tesco’s for producing a nice rooibos tea. So if you wish to try a milk free tea, why not give this a try.

I have never tried that tea before, but I sounds good. I tend to like the fruity flavored teas the best. Green teas and white teas have antioxident properties, which is an added bonus. I mix the fruity teas with the green or white teas.

Oh I like fruity teas, I’ve never thought about mixing them with a green or white tea. Thanks for the tip. I will have to give it a try.

I love the Dragonfly vanilla rooibos tea (they make and Earl Grey flavour as well, and it’s okay but I prefer the vanilla). It’s a bit more expensive than the supermarket own brands tend to be, but I think it has more flavour.
