Review of Udi’s Gluten Free Dairy Free Soft and Tasty Chocolate Chip Bagels

I had to pick up a few little extras for our Easter holiday the other day, so I found myself in the free from section in Tesco’s. I had wanted to try these bagels for a while so they ended up in my shopping basket.

Each bagel has 259 calories, 7.5g of fat, 8.1g of sugar and 0.61g of salt. The packaging is semi opaque so I could see the bagels and the chocolate chips within them. They just said eat me know. Sadly, I was not able to do this, and had to wait. I have previously had their plain bagels and loved them. The bagels themselves are easy to cut into and the bread was light and springy in texture to touch. I always have my bagels toasted, they toasted well without the chocolate melting. The bagel itself became nice on crunchy in texture on biting into it. This was followed by a nice light and fluffy texture. There was a good quantity of chocolate which worked in combination as part of the bagel. I personally found it difficult to tell that they were gluten free.

I forgot to take a picture of these toasted, perhaps because I just wanted to eat them.I loved these bagels and will definitely have these again. It’s great that there is a gluten free bagel that is also suitable for a dairy, and lactose free diet. Well done Udis for producing a wonderful sweet bagel, that I will continue to have as a sweet treat either for breakfast, lunch or tea. I recommend that if you follow a gluten, dairy or lactose free diet you give these little gems a try.

Wow, I had no idea Udi’s was making these! I’ve enjoyed their plain bagels in the past. Too bad I’m on a low carb diet right now so I might have to wait to try them 🙂

I would recommend them as a treat maybe when you are not being so strict about your carbs. I think it will be worth the wait.
