Review of Alpro gingerbread Man flavour dessert

I waited for some time to get hold of this dessert, so I popped it in my shopping basket and was looking forward to having it after my tea. They come in a pack of four and cost £1.50.

Each pot weighs 125g. The dietary values are based on 100g serving. This works out at 86 calories,2.8g of fat and 10g of sugar.

On opening the part you are greeted by a light to medium brown custard style dessert. There was a slight sweet artificial aroma on opening the pot, but I was unable to identify this maybe it was ginger in origin. On delving my spoon into the pot the dessert was slightly thick but yet smooth in texture.I felt like I was diving into a pot of custard. On tasting the dessert there was a subtle but not overpowering or artificial hint of ginger flavouring.

I really enjoyed it.I will definitely buy it again. Personally I think it would make a perfect accompaniment to anybody’s lunchbox. It is UHT and therefore doesn’t need to be stored in the fridge. However if I’m honest I prefer mine straight out of the fridge. I think I will use it as my plan B lunchtime desert when I run out of my Alpro yogurts.

I’m a big fan of these Alpro desserts but have never spotted the gingerbread one before. Will be keeping an eye open for it now!

I’m not sure that it is stocked everywhere. I got mine from Tesco’s, but after several attempts as was sold out. It was worth the wait. My favourite desert is still the custard served cold.
